Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Shiraz 2023

G 93

Medium-deep crimson. Pure blackberry aniseed aromas with dark chocolate notes. Ripe blackberry liquorice flavours, plentiful chalky/ al- dente fine textures and fresh long acidity. Juicy, buoyant and smooth. Very good value. Drink now–keep for a while Curator Wine Co Curator Marananga Vineyard Shiraz 2023 G 93 An opaque maroon hue with a dark red rim. Mocha, chocolate, bay leaves, plums, dried herbs, leather and warm earth. Savoury in style, the palate sees the emergence of coffee grinds. Neatly balanced with good persistence and intensity, the wine finishes with abundant tannins. It has excellent length. While it will undoubtedly benefit from time in the cellar and continue to improve over that period, the present generosity ensures it is approachable now. Drink now–2037 Curator Wine Co Lone Palm Vineyard Hillside Shiraz 2023 G 93 Vibrant purple. Dried herbs, plums, mocha, mulberries, chocolate, coffee beans and graphite. This is very much black-fruited, but with an overlay of oak. Tightly constructed at the moment, but offers a smooth and seductive palate with concentration and power. Such promise here, a wine of very good length with silky tannins and a lingering finish. Certainly approachable as is, but leaving it to mature for a couple of years will allow it to be seen to advantage. Drink 2027–2040 Eden Hall Block 4 Shiraz 2022 G 93 There is considerable underlying power here – that is the first impression this quite delicious Shiraz, from a stellar year, gives. The colour is an inky dark maroon. The nose offers aromas weaving through warm earth, black olives, chocolate, liquorice, plums, coffee grinds, blackberries and kirsch. The impression of coiled, brooding power, just waiting to be unleashed, never leaves the wine. There are fine tannins, good balance, focus and impressive length. This will certainly improve over the coming years and then undoubtedly deserve an even higher rating. It is surely a wine for the long haul, fifteen years or more. Drink now–2040 Eden Hall Springton Shiraz 2022 G 93 A deep blood-red hue here, with a nose redolent of raspberries, a range of red fruits, florals, spices, mocha, rose petals and chocolate. Oodles of chocolate, but there is some refinement here as well and lots to like. Fine satiny tannins, good length and a seamless structure all contribute to a delicious Eden Valley Shiraz. Drink now–2037
