Deep crimson. Dark plum, blackberry, sugared walnut aromas. Sweet fruited, blackberry pastile, walnut/ grilled nut favours and fine chalky/ bittersweet textures. Lovely complexity and flow. Drink now–2032 Atze’s Corner Wines Eddies Old Vine Shiraz 2022 G 93 Deep crimson. Dark chocolate, blackberry, cedarwood liquorice aromas. Oak dominant wine with cedarwood, mocha, blackberry fruits and sinewy tannins. Claret-firm finish with a liquorice kick. A widely appealing traditional style with plenty of concentration and vigour. Drink now–2034 Barons of Barossa Inc Barossa Cellar Shiraz 2023 G 93 A purple/ maroon hue, the nose offers an array of aromas swirling through plums, dark fruits, chocolate, blackcurrants and dried herbs. The wine is well-structured and is quite tight and restrained at this early stage. A wine of focus and impressive length, finishing with fine tannins, there is a line of bright acidity running the full length. Beautifully crafted, this is a wine which will reward those with the patience to cellar it for the long haul, though it will also provide pleasure in its early years. Drink now–2040 Barr Eden Estate Avenue to Gold Shiraz 2021 G 93 Deep crimson. Lifted black cherry, forest floor, choco-mint aromas. Well-concentrated and gravelly textured with ample choco-berry, spicy flavours, fine granular tannins and underlying savoury, roasted walnut notes. Finishes drying firm and minerally with seductive sweet fruit notes. Drink now–2035 Bosward Wines Bosward Shiraz 2023 G 93 An impressive and appealingly plush Barossa Shiraz with everything in place for further glory down the track. The colour is a vibrant purple. The nose gives us notes of dried herbs, chocolate, blackberries, hints of root vegetables, plums and mocha. There is good intensity here and it continues for the full distance, never wavering. The palate sees very dark chocolate, blackcurrants, liquorice and graphite notes emerging. A soft texture, the wine has excellent balance, fine tannins and serious length. There is lots to like here with a wine that will surely improve in the coming years and excite even more. Drink now–2037
