Curator Wine Co Curator Seppeltsfield Vineyard Shiraz 2023

G 94

From a vineyard in the famed Seppeltsfield sub-region, the wine is bottled under Diam. The wine has a black centre with a dark crimson rim. Ripe, with notes of plums and blackberries, cassis, a slight dusty touch, warm earth, smoked meats and liquorice, this is a complete style, immaculately balanced with abundant, very fine tannins and excellent length. The texture is supple and seductive, while the palate is dominated by black fruits and chocolate. A fifteen-year proposition. Drink now–2040 Eisenstone SR802 Ebenezer Shiraz 2022 G 94 Deep colour. Lifted blackberry, elderberry, praline aromas with wood varnish notes. Generously concentrated blackberry pastille, elderberry, hint mint flavours, fine loose-knit chocolaty tannins and well-integrated roasted walnut notes. Finishes chocolaty and long. Drink now–2038 Eisenstone X12 Richardson Goldfeld Vineyard Shiraz 2022 G 94 Medium-deep crimson. Red cherry, strawberry, dried plum, panforte aromas with hints of marzipan/ spice. Slinky textured with ample red and blackberry fruits, fine, loose-knit, chocolaty, touch rusty tannins and well-balanced vanilla/ marzipan/ roasted almond notes. Finishes firm and tight. Attractive volume and vigour. 14.5% alc Drink now–2040 First Drop Wines Fat of the Land Greenock Shiraz 2021 G 94 As with all the wines in this series, under Diam, and twenty months in an even split of new and one-year-old French hogsheads. 1200 bottles. This wine exhibits a little more toasty oak than the Ebenezer, with notes of blackberries, axle grease, chocolate, liquorice, tar, soy and sarsaparilla on the nose. The soy and sarsaparilla are especially prominent on the palate. This is powerful and muscular with fine, firm tannins and impressive length. Another wine for the long haul. Drink now–2045 Gibson Wines Burkes Hill Single Site Shiraz 2020 G 94 Deep crimson. Black cherry pastille, touch marzipan, vanilla aromas. Fresh blackberry, black cherry, fruits, firm chocolaty textures and pronounced espresso marzipan notes. Builds up grippy and tight. Looks much younger than its vintage. Drink now–2035
