First Drop Wines Fat of the Land Ebenezer Shiraz 2021
G 96
Under Diam, just 1200 bottles made. The wine spent twenty months in oak, a mix of 50% new and 50% one-year-old French hogsheads. An opaque maroon hue, the oak here is still evident, but integrating well. There are notes of chocolate, blackberries, aniseed, mocha, cassis and liquorice on the nose. This is intense and seamless. A big, bold Barossa red with silky tannins and great length. The palate sees the emergence of even more notes of dark chocolate and black cherries. Love it. A wine which takes full advantage of the wonderful 2021 vintage. Drink
