Drink now–2042 First Drop Wines ‘Fat of the Land’ Seppeltsfield Shiraz 2021 G 96 Another cracking wine from this series with similar production and oak treatment (under Diam, 1200 bottles made, twenty months in a mix of 50% new and 50% one-year-old French hogsheads). Opaque maroon with a dark crimson rim, there are lifted aromas here – black cherries, blueberries, cassis, chocolate/mocha and beautifully integrated oak. The wine offers focus and direction, has excellent balance and wonderful length, finishing with satiny tannins. The intensity is maintained for the full journey. A wine for enjoying over the next couple of decades – this is a gem. Drink now–2045
