Hare’s Chase Mataro Rosé 2024

Gleaming orange-pink. Herbs, cherries, spices, delicatessen meats, florals, orange rind and bergamot. Very much a Mediterranean style blend of rosé: 93% Mataro, and 7% Cinsaut. Bright acidity gives the wine a pleasing vibrancy and freshness. It concludes with a little grip. There is good length, fine balance and a clean, crisp finish. Drink now–2028. Levrier Wines by Jo Irvine Merlot 2019 G 91 Deep crimson. Attractive red plum cassis aromas with marzipan notes. Richly flavoured wine with lovely red plum, cassis flavours and classical grainy tannins. An early drinking style. Drink now–soon Purple Hands After Five Wine Co Aglianico 2023 Medium-deep crimson. Herbal chinotto redcurrant aromas. Grippy textured with vibrant sweet red cherry redcurrant fruits and slinky dry tannins. Builds up crispy and juicy at the finish. Drink now–2030

G 90

Medium-deep crimson. Dried plum redcurrant aromas with carob notes. Supple and warm fruited with ample dark berry, touch raisined fruits and chalky firm tannins. Builds up sinewy and tight at the finish. Drink now–2030 Lambert Estate Tempt Me Tempranillo 2024 G 90 Medium-deep crimson. Minty red cherry aromas and flavours with some chocolaty/ cedar notes. Juicy and compact on the palate with firm tannin structure and indelible crisp acidity. Drink now–2030 Otherness Fratres Cabernet Franc 2023 G 90 A deep red hue with a garnet rim, there are fragrant aromas of spices, cherries, bay leaves, a touch of leaf litter and dried herbs. Red-fruited and slightly herbal, a touch more elegant than many of the region’s reds. A mid-weight style, of medium length, this is quite juicy in style with a fine line of acidity running the length. Best enjoyed over the next few years. Drink now–2030
