Medium-deep crimson. Raspberry, red liquorice aromas with herbgarden/ floral notes. Buoyant and smoothly textured with ample raspberry and boysenberry fruits, fine chalky textures and fresh, juicy acidity. Drink now–soon Whistler Wines Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 93 Medium-deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant minty herbgarden aromas with espresso notes. Classical Cabernet palate with pure cassis herb flavours and fine grainy tannins. Finishes bittersweet and minerally. Drink now–2036 Atze’s Corner Wines Mob Montepulciano 2022 G 92 Deep crimson. Attractive dark chocolate, dark plum aromas with flinty notes. Supple and sweet fruited with abundant dark berry fruits, grainy/ bittersweet textures and plentiful juicy mineral notes. Slurpy and delicious to drink. Drink now–soon Levrier Wines by Jo Irvine Mosaic Collection Cavall Merlot 2019 G 92 Medium-deep crimson. Attractive red plum, dark chocolate herb aromas. Sweet red plum, cassis flavours persistent chalky textures and underlying marzipan, vanilla notes. Finishes lightly grippy with hint wax polish/ tobacco notes. Drink now–2030 Lou Miranda Estate Fierce III Sagrantino 2021 G 92 Medium-deep colour. Intense black cherry, minty aromas with hints of wax polish. Inky deep and juicy with rich black cherry pastille. Choco- mint flavours and grainy firm/ sinewy tannins. Attractive vinosity and vigour. Drink now–soon. Otherness Harmonica Aglianico Montepulciano 2022 G 92 Under Diam, this blend of Italian favourites (61% Aglianico, 39% Montepulciano) is made by Craig Stansborough, better known as the chief winemaker at Grant Burge. Very much in the savoury mould, this is an attractive deep crimson. The nose reveals notes of spices, dried herbs, bay leaves, red fruits, liquorice, florals and warm earth. There is a lovely touch of sour cherry on the finish. There is good length and abundant tannins. A well-crafted wine of great interest. Drink now–2031.
