Pale hint of straw. Aromatic oil skin, lime curd, hay and toasted notes. A show of tertiary flavours, quince, miso, hay, toast and lanolin. Fleshy with a generous silkiness across the palate. An expressive wine at its peak. Drink 2025–2027 Stage Door Wine Co Riesling 2024 G 91 The colour is a pale lemon. This is a fine Riesling, for earlier drinking than many, from an excellent vintage. Made by Phil Lehmann, son of the legendary Peter Lehmann, but also a winemaker who has carved out a stellar reputation of his own. It is quite a forward style, soft and slightly plush in texture with a gentle fade. There is a flick of acidity. Drink now–2029 Gatt Wines High Eden Riesling 2023 G 90 Pale colour. Lifted verbena, lemon, lime aromas with hints of oil skin. Flavourful and impactful with deep-set lemon curd, verbena, oily flavours, fine slinky textures and vibrantly fresh acidity. Finishes bittersweet. Drink now–2038 Millon Wines Estate Riesling 2023 G 90 Pale colour. Fragrant lemon, grapefruit, hint of tonic water and orange blossom. Upfront acidity, pure lemon, grapefruit pith and a zestiness on the palate. Talcy finish made for early drinking. Drink now–2027 Shanahans Wines Evergreen Riesling 2023 G 90 Pale colour. Classic lemon, lime, notes of camomile and tonic water. Good volume with generous citrus flavours and a faint herbal edge. A refreshing style with a fine mineral finish. Drink now–2027
