Medium-deep crimson. Demure perfume: foraged berries, pomegranate, plum, dried marjoram and pencil shavings – its graphite lingering. A fleshy wine with compelling bittersweet fruit – think rhubarb piquancy offset by ripe boysenberry. There is undeniable acidity and tannin; however, rather than compete, the two run parallel, carrying the wine with beautiful length. A curio blend of Iberian grapes – worth keeping an eye on. Drink now–2028 Anvers Razorback Road Shiraz 2021 G 90 Medium-deep crimson. Opens with an array of fruits: blueberry, currant, mulberry and plum, blackberry jam, praline, and hints of savoury earth. The sweet fruit core is seasoned with vanillin and an assortment of baking spice. A pleasant caramel whisper from the oak is bolstered by fine-grain tannins. An accessible, good all rounder Shiraz made in an early drinking style. Drink now–2027 Anvers The Warrior Shiraz Shiraz 2018 G 90 Big traditional styling: 64% Hills / 36% Langhorne Creek. Best parcels of shiraz with 18 months in French oak. Rich and opulent, and just starting to mellow. Perhaps a wine from a previous era, though many will still appreciate. 14.5% alc Cork Drink now–2028 Art Wine Rosa Prosecco Sparkling NV G 90 Rosa in colour and name. Prettiness to the nose with blossoming peony and rose, strawberry and musk sticks. Creamy and bright with red fruits and tutti-fruiti confection. Mouth-filling foam with nostalgic sherbet zing. A wine for living in the

Straw with translucent rim. Exotic and ripe aromatics: ginger biscuit, guava, musk stick and tangerine. Creamy yet light – the palate sees a citrus zing at the fore layered with butterscotch and crystallised ginger. Tulle-like in texture, the flavours roll across languid and with good length. A wine with great panache. Drink now– 2028 Catlin Ernest Guy Grüner Veltliner Grüner Veltliner 2017 G 90 Yes, the 2017 vintage is correct, and a fascinating insight into the ageability of this variety, which opens with a similar nose to older Riesling, some lime oil and herbed wax – a note also that the colour has yet to turn to gold. The palate has tapered somewhat in flavour intensity, while its pithiness remains. Curiosity here and worth exploring further. 13.5% alc Drink now Cobbs Hills Estate Onkaparinga Pinot Gris 2024 G 90 Pale colour. Reticent nose lemongrass, citrus blossom, tinned pears, guava and a whiff of hay. Entering the riper zone with preserved lemon and pears stewed in baking spice – nutmeg and clove echoing to the finish. Bittersweet textured, citrus pith creates interest to a well-made wine. Drink now–2026 Dandelion Vineyard Twilight of the Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2023 G 90 Lemon with a fluorescent edge. A citrus impression: lemon and yuzu with a Granny Smith bite – delicately cool climate. Zingy and taut along the palate, citrus fruits meld with green apple and quince. An appealing chalkiness coats the palate as the wine holds with good length and vitality. A wine for under the sun. Drink now–2026 Golding Wines Rosie May Chardonnay Chardonnay 2023 G 90 Subtle aromas: orchard florals, cut stone fruit, some baking spice in the background, with more clarity in the Chardonnay characters once tasting: white nectarine, sliced sourdough, white miso and creamed almond-like notes all fill the mouth with a textural expression. Drink now–2028 Heirloom Pinot Noir 2023 G 90 Light crimson. A reticent nose, beetroot, cranberry, blood orange and notes of sage and nigella seeds. Surprising power on the palate, driven by red cherry, chinotto and a touch of menthol on the finish. Vibrant with good persistency. Drink now–2026

Multiple site sourcing. All the Pinot elements in line here, a little eucal forest lift in the background. Dark cherry fruit, cola-like senses, easy-going palate structures, a flutter of spice throughout. All present and correct in an approachable style. 12% alc Drink now–2029 Boston Bay Wines Pinot Noir Pinot Noir 2023 G 90 Sibling label to Barristers Block, under their recently purchased Port Lincoln-based brand. A ripe style, fleshy, and a bit blousy to begin, though better behaved in the palate, fragrant, spicy, perky palate energy. 13% alc Drink now–2028
