Nice and easy style here. Pure white fruits, dried pear and laid-back citrus, a line of tingling acidity under the fruit’s forward palate to keep things fresh and lively. Pure varietal capture, no mucking around with all the whizz-bang extras. 12.5% alc Drink now–2028 Pike & Joyce The Kay Reserve Chardonnay Chardonnay 2022 G 91 Reserve styling from the outset … some flintiness on the approach, a note of woody elements as well along with its ripe stone fruit spectrum of aromatics and flavours, offset with neatly balanced acidity and a delicate touch of tonic bitterness in the finish for a sophisticated finale. Drink now–2030 Riposte The Dagger Pinot Noir 2024 G 91 This multi-clonal set, from vineyards in the Hills region northern sector offers a decent degree of complexity at a Pinot entry point. Mostly whole berries and no oak set the style parameters, which is clearly a youthful, bright and fresh expression of the variety. And, yep, that’s exactly how The Dagger strikes: aromatic, spicy, and a twist of herb – between thyme and mint – which seasons the red berry juiciness that follows. A very easy, light to midweight style that suits Spring and Summer refreshments. You might also dwell a little longer, shake the wine around in a jug, and take in a bit of peppery spice and a fine dusting of tannin. Bright, spicy and pleasing. Drink now–2027 Saint & Scholar The Masters Series Pinot Noir Pinot Noir 2022 G 91 Multi-clonal, 60% whole bunch, darker and sweeter fruited than many, cola notes in play, though as a total expression it all works as a very approachable style, fruit forward with softer structures. A likeable variation. 13.5% alc Drink now–2030 The Other Wine Co Pinot Gris Pinot Gris 2024 G 91 Pale hay colour. High aromatics. Cut apple, orchard florals. Lovely sweet apple juiciness to start to palate with a light touch of interesting bitterness, the mouthfeel showing a bit of weight and texture, lees influenced, with a note of spice in the finish with a spritely undercarriage of acidity. Has a good sense of varietal identity. Drink now–2029 Thistledown Great Escape Chardonnay 2023 G 91 A faint yellow hue. Reticent with nashi pear, tonic water with sliced lemon and wet slate aromas. Bright and fresh in style, it undulates with a softness across the palate. A hint of sweet citrus in the core, it finishes with appealing talciness. Tightly drawn elegance. Drink now–2030

Lightly kissed salmon. Pure aromatics, white rose, strawberry, hints of talc and tangerine. Beautifully layered with red fruits, grapefruit and talc. Acidity races around the palate, caught in a game of tag by the wine’s phenolic grip. A mere babe, this will benefit with a swish and time in glass. A lovely transitional Rosé. Drink now–2026 Wicks Estate Pinot Noir 2024 G 91 Bright crimson with a watery rim. A confident nose, black cherry, plum, lined with the savouriness of sundried tomato, bresaola and hints of pepper berry. Immediate vibrancy of flavour, a burst of redcurrant and strawberries coupled with an appealing sweet cherry bite in the centre. Feathery tannins soften the wine’s youthful edges as baking spice pool on the finish. An early drinking style that won’t disappoint. Drink now–2027 Wicks Estate Chardonnay Pinot Noir Sparkling NV G 91 Almost translucent lemon hue. Beautifully aromatic, Chardonnay’s disposition to the fore – white peach, lemon juice, apple and orange blossom. Well-concentrated flavours balanced on a taut line of acid. A tingling mousse brushes against the wine’s apple flesh texture. Its lick of sweetness makes for an affable sparkling. A wine to celebrate the everyday. Drink now–2026 Wicks Estate Sauvignon Blanc Sauvignon Blanc 2024 G 91 A softer aromatic lift than others, a bit more relaxed and sedate, which is quite encouraging, tropical fruits the main focus, a sensing of passionfruit yoghurt suggesting a light touch of creaminess. The palate, too, is less about high zing and more textural. Has all the varietal feels desired in a more relaxed palate setting.

12.5% alc Drink now–2026 Wirra Wirra The 12th Man Chardonnay 2023

G 91

Straw edged with gold. Intensely perfumed with immediate winemaking impression – ripe peach, apple strudel and struck match. Creamy and supple, with an appealing bitter citrus core. Ripe stone fruits are crossed by assertive oak in what becomes a savoury lattice of flavour. An attractive bittersweet brown lime finish, makes for a classic catch. Drink now–2028
