Nepenthe Dolcetto Dolcetto 2023

G 91

Dark cherry colours, which send aromatic messaging as well, slightly sour cherry elements included, a dusty gravel road note as well. These senses roll into the palate, with acidity and grip that adds noticeable mouthfeel and presence, finishing dry and essentially savoury. Desirable with food. 12% alc Drink now–2032 Ox Hardy Chardonnay Chardonnay 2023 G 91 Nice and easy style here. Pure white fruits, dried pear and laid-back citrus, a line of tingling acidity under the fruit’s forward palate to keep things fresh and lively. Pure varietal capture, no mucking around with all the whizz-bang extras. 12.5% alc Drink now–2028 Pike & Joyce The Kay Reserve Chardonnay Chardonnay 2022 G 91 Reserve styling from the outset … some flintiness on the approach, a note of woody elements as well along with its ripe stone fruit spectrum of aromatics and flavours, offset with neatly balanced acidity and a delicate touch of tonic bitterness in the finish for a sophisticated finale. Drink now–2030 Riposte The Dagger Pinot Noir 2024 G 91 This multi-clonal set, from vineyards in the Hills region northern sector offers a decent degree of complexity at a Pinot entry point. Mostly whole berries and no oak set the style parameters, which is clearly a youthful, bright and fresh expression of the variety. And, yep, that’s exactly how The Dagger strikes: aromatic, spicy, and a twist of herb – between thyme and mint – which seasons the red berry juiciness that follows. A very easy, light to midweight style that suits Spring and Summer refreshments. You might also dwell a little longer, shake the wine around in a jug, and take in a bit of peppery spice and a fine dusting of tannin. Bright, spicy and pleasing. Drink now–2027 Saint & Scholar The Masters Series Pinot Noir Pinot Noir 2022 G 91 Multi-clonal, 60% whole bunch, darker and sweeter fruited than many, cola notes in play, though as a total expression it all works as a very approachable style, fruit forward with softer structures. A likeable variation. 13.5% alc Drink now–2030 The Other Wine Co Pinot Gris Pinot Gris 2024 G 91 Pale hay colour. High aromatics. Cut apple, orchard florals. Lovely sweet apple juiciness to start to palate with a light touch of interesting bitterness, the mouthfeel showing a bit of weight and texture, lees influenced, with a note of spice in the finish with a spritely undercarriage of acidity. Has a good sense of varietal identity. Drink now–2029
