G 91

Floral, preserved lemon, tangy lime, intriguing to the senses, with concentration and intensity of flavours and tang in the palate, some woodiness in the background, depth and interest in the whole expression. 12.8% alc Drink now–2028 K1 by Geoff Hardy Cabernet-Merlot Cabernet-Merlot 2021 G 91 Sweet-fruited from the start. Classic aromas, blacker berries, subtle dark choc with a faint mint, very easy-going with nicely weighted tannins and flavours working their harmonies for a complete and friendly, approachable style of wine. 14.2% alc Drink now–2030

Medium crimson. Vibrantly aromatic, raspberry, gummy cherries, blueberry, creaming soda and a faint hint of potpourri. Well concentrated with ample berry fruits, laden in vanilla bean and sweet baking spice. Jumping with acidity, it lands on the spring of pliant tannins. A wine of conviviality. Drink now–2028 Longview Rosato – Nebbiolo Pinot Nero Rosé 2024 G 91 Salmon pink hue. Lovely lifted aromas of raspberry, watermelon infused with creaming soda and potpourri nuances. Salivating, crunchy and bright in style. A fresh cranberry bite cushioned by a ripe strawberries weight in the midpalate. The savoury Nebbiolo grip on the finish makes for a wonderful gastronomic wine. Drink now–2026 Mordrelle Basket Press Pinot Noir 2022 Pinot Noir 2022 G 91 Fruit sourced from the Ashton district, a note of cherry flesh, some dark rose petal, that fleshiness in the palate filling out in the mouth with other earthy/spice elements adding weight and texture – a sense of minerality in the finish. A savoury focused style. 13% alc Drink now–2030 Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard S&G Chardonnay Chardonnay 2022 G 91 Small production, Lenswood estate vineyard derived, clearly good oak employed, subtle gingery notes across the senses, a bit of cream biscuit in there, with built-in textural mouthfeels and a slight savoury exit strategy. And a decent cellar future ahead.12.4% alc Drink now–2032 Nepenthe Albarino 2023 G 91 Clear lemon. My what a pretty nose. Bright aromatics; yellow nectarine, nashi pear, tutti fruity, steeped honey and camomile tea with a lick of wet stone. Great fruit weight, there is a fullness to this wine that envelops the palate. A touch of attractive sweetness works in tandem with the varietal’s saline lemon stamp, seeing the wine finish with a burst of freshness. A glass of this in the sun will have most set. Drink now–2025 Nepenthe Dolcetto Dolcetto 2023 G 91 Dark cherry colours, which send aromatic messaging as well, slightly sour cherry elements included, a dusty gravel road note as well. These senses roll into the palate, with acidity and grip that adds noticeable mouthfeel and presence, finishing dry and essentially savoury. Desirable with food. 12% alc Drink now–2032

K1 by Geoff Hardy Tzimmakin Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

G 91

Poured from a massively heavy bottle. Made from air-dried fruit to intensify the flavour and power, alcohol maxing at 15% abv. Sweet palate notes, barely any sense of varietal aromatics, big and chewy in the palate construction, spicy, peppery. Suits a particular taste for concentrated muscle-proud red wine. Diam. Drink now–2028 K1 by Geoff Hardy NV Sparkling Sparkling NV G 91 Pale pink, telling of its Pinot Noir/Chardonnay cuvée, the faintest of cut white strawberry aromas, lovely fresh palate tingle, and light-heady mousse. Well made, easy-going party styling. Drink now–2028 Lloyd Brothers Pinot Noir Syrah Pinot Noir Syrah 2022 G 91 A 70/30 percentage blend of these two red varieties, the combo with plenty of positive form in Australian wine traditions. Dark cherry fruit, bush florals, perhaps a waft of boronia, juicy and crimson fruited in the medium-weighted palate, peppery spice adding a seasoning in the finish, tannins holding sticky and firm. Worth a shot. 13.5% alc Drink now–2032 Lobethal Road Tempranillo 2023 G 91 Medium crimson. Appealing herbal nose: oregano, bay leaf, sundried tomato – reminiscent of spaghetti Bolognese layered with plum and tree bark. Richly flavoured with great lift, lashings of boysenberry, dark cherry and sarsaparilla with a sprinkling of Italian spices. Savoury verging on rustic tannins paired with a crunchy bittersweet finish making for an intriguing wine. A wine to ponder. Drink now–2034
