Hahndorf Hill Pinot Grigio 2024

G 93

Pale colour, straw hue. A showcase of youth and vitality on the nose – kaffir lime, Beurré Bosc pear, Granny Smith – undertone of spring blossoms. Fruit weight and acidity interweave to form a taut line of concentrated length – pure lemon, lime and hints of bitter tonic, this is a moreish wine with an appealing chalky finish. Sophisticated Pinot Grigio. Drink now–2027 Hahndorf Hill Rosé Rosé 2024 G 93 The palest of pretty pinks, glossy, with rose petal fragrance. Made from predominantly Trollinger grapes, one of the estate’s German/Austrian collection, this has a bright and zingy approach to its flavour profile, crunchy Pink Lady apple, and spicy acidity with mouth-filling pithy feels that last till the sun goes down. Definitely one for the crunchy end of the style, and brilliant with most foods. 12% alc Drink now–2029 Henschke Innes Vineyard Pinot Gris Pinot Gris 2024 G 93 Delightful aromatics – definite Williams pear with wafts of white orchard flowers and kitchen herb garden – spilling into a spritely palate, fresh and pithy, apples now cut and quartered, sweet, then tart and salivating. A lively expression smelling of spring and refreshing for summer afternoon drinks. 13.5% alc Drink now–2028 K1 by Geoff Hardy Pinot Noir Pinot Noir 2022 G 93 A multi-clonal work from the K1 Kuitpo vineyard, stylishly put together with all the Pinot characters we love, the darker cherry and pomegranate-like fruits, a crushed rock suggestion to one side, sweet flavour swells through the palate with light tannins and feel-good acidity driving a well-balanced, pleasing style. 13% alc Drink now–2030

La Prova Pinot Grigio Pinot Grigio/GRis 2024

G 93

Very pale. Attractive florals in a pretty posey set of fragrances, then all the familiar varietal fruit suggestions, apple, green pear with an extra twist of a light note of musk. Flavours are all the above as well, but it’s the textural spice, zing and pith that gives the wine a vibrant turbo boost. Great summer refreshment. 12.7% alc Drink now–2030 La Prova Sangiovese Sangiovese 2022 G 93 From the Italian varietal portfolio of Sam Scott, this just sings ‘Drink me’. Captivating fragrances: smashed cherry, dug-over soils and crushed rocks give a fruit and savoury introduction that is carried through as a juicy, delicious drink, red plums captured in a coat of soft and pliable tannins, slippery, svelte and very, very drinkable. 14% alc Drink now–2027
