Forest fruits with herbal edge. Blueberry tart. Good depth and tannin structure. Great length of dark fruits on finish. Land of the Vines James Alfred Reserve Shiraz 2021 Good depth and structural tannins. Blackcurrant dominant. some Inky / iodine earthy character. Zonte’s Footstep Chocolate Factory McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022 Crimson, stewed plum flavours on palate. Good length with some palate strength. Zonte’s Footstep Lake Doctor Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2022 Deep, ruby/crimson. Reductive rubbery nose. Good depth on palate - chocolatey tannins on finish. Good length. Morgan Simpson Basket Press Shiraz 2017 A wine of moderate intensity that is ageing with grace. Baked plum aromas. Lovely flavour progression. Mount Benson Estate Reserve Syrah 2019 Choc-mint aromatics. The palate has good brightness. Candied cherry flavours. There is a sour edge to the acidity. Mount Benson Estate Block 8 Syrah 2019 Hints of star anise and cardamom. Mint and blackberries. The palate is beautifully intense with good fruit density and clarity. Malone Wines Shiraz 2018 Fresh lemons plus a hint of green bean. Just ripe mulberry aromatics. Highly sweet-fruited and juby. Quite viscous and a touch syrupy. A little heavy Morgan Simpson Reprieve Shiraz 2018 Very strong coconut. The oak dominates the wine. The fruit has lovely brightness and the wine shows good concentration but the oak is obtrusive. The palate is supple and satisfying.
