Nutmeg and cinnamon quills give way to dusty tannins and leather varnish. There is sweetness to the raspberry fruit on the palate and a cherry kirsch note too. Drinking well now, and would benefit from a gentle decant. Drink now Battle of Bosworth Puritan Shiraz 2024 G 91 Puritan by name, Puritan by nature. This is unadorned youthful Shiraz in its spotlight. Inky plums and black fig. A smoky hint of charcoal and crushed ant. Bilberries and juniper spice. It’s grungy in its dryness and sandy tannins with astute tea bitters on the finish. If you love the Joven style, you’ll find this right up your alley. Drink now Battle of Bosworth Shiraz Shiraz 2022 G 91 Boysenberry, wine gums and toffee apple. Oak shows its coconut and cardamom spice notes. Ripe and succulent with dense middle palate weight and a trademark dry finish. This changes in shape as you drink it, making it a journey of a wine. Plush moments are followed by assertive acidity. A wine to keep you guessing; lots to think about for your dollars. Drink now–2026 Black Billy Old Vine Grenache Grenache 2023 G 91 Fruit is sourced from old vines, over 113 to be exact. Tannins are a silk sheet, and acid frames the glistening fruit. It’s reminiscent of afternoons spent camping and telling stories; it’s Aussie bush and reeks of good memories. Spices are brooding and linger for a good while. Drink now–2028 Cape Barren Native Goose Shiraz Grenache 2022 G 91 Raspberry coulis, boysenberry and pomegranate acidity.
