Medium crimson. Mulberry, blackberry and black pepper, hints of dried hay. Medium- bodied, with a plush core of mulberry, with savoury earthy accents and chalky tannins leading to medium finish. Hints of eucalypt on the close. Drink now–2026 Heggies Vineyard Cloudline Chardonnay 2024 G 90 The name refers to the impression of the vineyard appearing to sit along the clouds on days that are cold and foggy. A light, and deft touch, of oak is included in the winemaking. A lean, pale gold hue here, there are hints of stone fruit with citrus and a minerally backing. There is a flick of oak. The wine has coiled power underlying a clean, fresh and focused palate. There is good length here and the wine should drink well for another four years. Drink now–2028 Hemera Estate Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2021 G 90 The estate has a patch of Cabernet Franc, Block 1B, just behind the winery. The wine spent two years in a combination of French oak hogsheads, one-quarter new and 3/4s one-year-old. Does this variety work in the Barossa? Worth having a look and making up your own mind. Whether the Barossa emerges as a classic region for Cab Franc or not, it certainly provides a wine of flavour. A dark maroon hue, there is still plenty of oak evident, but it is coming together. We have notes of raspberries, spices, soy, tomato bush, cherries and leather with quite earthy characters. A wine of medium length, with very finely crafted tannins, this will provide pleasure over the

Certainly works here. This is the first time the team have offered the blend and it is promising for what is hopefully to come. A crimson purple hue, the nose offers lifted fruit characters. Touches of plums, herbs, florals, mulberries and chocolate, with a character reminiscent of a dusty road, heading into the hills. Supple and of medium length, we have attractive dark berry notes on the palate through to fine, firm tannins. This would be a cracking drink for a summer barbeque, any time over the next couple of years. Drink now–2026 Eden Hall Grüner Veltliner 2023 G 90 Pale colour.
