The name apparently means aromas point, make of that what you will. The wine is a blend of Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Kerner, which are co-fermented, and is an explosion of flavours. From the Fechner vineyard, the wine is a very pale, gleaming straw hue. The Gewürz is to the fore at this early stage, well supported by its amigos. We have lychee notes, lavender, orange rind, musk, bath salts, citrus and florals. An off-dry style with fresh acidity and decent length which will provide terrific drinking, especially if matching some full throttle Asian dishes, for the next two to four years. Drink now–2028 Chateau Tanunda Grand Barossa Dry Riesling 2024 G 91 Riesling from a wonderful vintage from the Barossa sub-regions of Tanunda and Vine Vale, some of the vines used here exceed a century in age. This is pale straw with a nose exhibiting bath salts, spices, citrus, talc and a minerally backing. There is a touch of lemongrass as well, with limes and florals. Lovely soft palate/texture, this is a pleasingly gentle style. Medium length but there is fresh acidity running the full journey. A fine Riesling for enjoying over the next six to eight years. Drink now–2032
