Deep crimson. Intense blackberry panforte aromas with crème brûlée, sandalwood notes. Plushly concentrated wine with abundant dark berry fruits, plentiful panforte, chocolaty notes, dense chalky tannins and underlying sandalwood/cedar (oak) nuances. Drinking well now with a touch of bottle age development. 14.5% alc Drink now–2028 Bethany First Village Shiraz 2022 G 92 Terrific value Barossa Shiraz, this is a very dark maroon hue. The aromas swirl around cloves, really dark chocolate, bay leaves, leather, dried herbs and blackcurrants, but it is the coffee beans which are to the fore. There is a flicker of oak still evident and there is quite a pleasing savoury note to this. A seductive and supple texture with fine, sleek tannins and a hint of bitterness on the finish, which works well. A wine of medium length which will offer pleasure for five to eight years. Drink now–2032 Biscay Road Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 202 G 92 2 Another wine representing excellent value, this is Barossa Cabernet from a brilliant vintage. An opaque magenta hue, there are notes of tobacco leaves, chocolate biscuits, cocoa powder, blackberries, coffee grinds and black cherries. Rich and ripe with silky tannins, this is of medium length with a juicy palate. Will drink beautifully for the next six to 10 years. Drink now–2034 Camino Grenache Rosé 2023 G 92 Love the label here. A slick, modern Rosé with a pair of dirty old boots, a reminder to those enjoying the final result at their favourite bistro that a lot of hard work goes into these wines. Made from Barossa Grenache, from vines dating back to 1912, with wild fermentation and half a year resting on lees, there really is much to like here. The colour is a burnt orange/fading sunset, while the aromas weave through orange blossoms, strawberries, cherries, spices, herbs, citrus and florals. A supple texture but the wine maintains its intensity for the full journey. Balanced, clean, fresh and of full length with juicy flavours, this will provide pleasure for at least the next three to five years. An impressive Rosé. Drink now–2029

All the aromatics expected from the regional/varietal pairing, cut citrus to the fore, flowing into the palate with an exotic ripeness also adding further attraction with a bathroom powder note as well.
