Intensity and concentration here are impressive, offering a purity of Clare Valley Riesling expression with freshly squeezed lime juice, pith and skin, intense and super tangy. But it then goes further into citrus territory with hints of savoury preserved lemon, lemongrass, ginger and fennel seed. Super dry and youthful with assertive acidity in place which puts it in good stead for future ageing. Drink now–2034 Two Hands Wines Samantha’s Garden Shiraz 2022 G 93 A barrel selection of the best blocks of Shiraz from three Clare sub-regions, Samantha’s Garden is all about elegance. Makes a statement about a more refined expression of Clare Shiraz, one that is beautifully perfumed, medium-bodied and oozing class. Brings blueberries, cassis and red fruits to the fore. Drink now–2035 Wines by KT 5452 Shiraz 2023 G 93 A tightly wound Shiraz that would love a few good swishes of air or a decant, and then stand back. Opens to lifted aromatic aromas of woody spices and black fruits, plum, liquorice and a hint of roasting herbs. Super bright and punchy with a savoury edge in deli meats, 5452 is one lively young, aromatic Shiraz that could easily take the Syrah moniker, such is its medium-bodied, upbeat character. The palate is mapped out in black and plum fruits, anise, cocoa and spice finishing with a light savouriness on firm but fine tannins. Plenty to enjoy here. Drink now–2030 Anthologist Keeper of the Flame Cabernet 2023 G 92 Love this wine’s title! Cabernet is a traditional strength in the Clare Valley, but it can always do with more keepers of the flame like Anthologist. Dark purple hues, almost impenetrable. Not a wine you would describe as shy; far from it. It’s bold, it stands tall in dark chocolate, wild dark herbs, local mint, blackcurrant and blackberry with sweetly spiced oak and an even spread of ripe tannins. It has flavour to burn and is super approachable right now, should you choose. Drink now–2035

A generous, rich, ripe Shiraz of impressive intensity and endurance. Filled to brimming in black fruits, dark plum, gumleaf, cardamon, rousing woody spices and earth. Fleshy and strong, the palate is carried on dark fruit flavours sprinkled in sweet oak and warm spice and delivered long on firm tannins. A Shiraz strong in personality. Drink now–2030
