A straw yellow hue, the nose has an array of aromas including pears, stonefruits, hazelnuts, ginger and lemongrass. There is a supple texture, with good balance and focus here. Medium length, this is an attractive Grüner. Drink now–2028 Stage Door Wine Co Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro 2023 G 90 A blend of 38% Grenache, 37% Shiraz, and 25% Mataro, this is a pleasing example of what is often termed the Rhône blend, but these days, one might suggest that it is equally deserving of being dubbed the Barossa blend. A crimson garnet hue, there are notes of red fruits, especially cherries and raspberries, with red apples, spices, florals and a touch of salami. The texture is supple, the wine fresh and clean with moderate length. Drink now–2030. Tarrawatta Wines Ambervale Grenache 2022 G 90 Deep crimson. Minty, musky plum dark chocolate aromas and flavours, fine loose- knit chalky textures, attractive volume and persistent fresh pronounced acidity. Drink now–2030 Whistler Wines Double Back Grenache 2023 G 90 Medium crimson. Cola, espresso aromas with herbgarden notes. Fresh cola, red cherry fruits, supple textures and fresh juicy acidity. Easy drinking but simple wine. Drink now–soon Whistler Wines Dry As a Bone Rosé 2025 G 90 The colour is that of an orange/pink sunset, while the nose is all strawberries and cream. There are small, though pleasant intrusions from dry herbs, florals and red fruits. Quite an exuberant style, this is fresh and clean with medium length and a gentle finish. An attractive rosé best consumed in the reasonably near future. Drink now–2027
Whistler Wines Estate Shiraz, Cabernet 2023

A blood red colour here, the wine offers appealingly lifted aromatics with notes of florals, truffles, root vegetables, black fruits, soy, black cherries and liquorice. A wine of moderate length and a gentle fade, it really does need a little more persistence to reach the next level. There are fine tannins here and a flick of acidity. Under cork. Drink now–2029
