Otherness Fratres Cabernet Franc 2023

G 90

A deep red hue with a garnet rim, there are fragrant aromas of spices, cherries, bay leaves, a touch of leaf litter and dried herbs. Red-fruited and slightly herbal, a touch more elegant than many of the region’s reds. A mid-weight style, of medium length, this is quite juicy in style with a fine line of acidity running the length. Best enjoyed over the next few years. Drink now–2030 Paulmara Estates Georgiadis Estate Sangiovese 2025 G 90 From the same plot of sangiovese in the Marananga sub-region as is used for the Rosé, the colour here is a pale garnet. Soft ripe strawberries, dried herbs, cherries, roast meat, tomato bush and florals dominate the nose. This is a lighter style with bright acidity. It is fresh and energetic with medium length, which does linger, finishing with very fine tannins. For drinking over the next 2–3 years. Drink now– 2028 Paulmara Estates Cellar Reserve Sangiovese 2024 G 90 The 2021 vintage was a superb one in the Barossa and it helps to lift the team’s prestige Sangiovese. A blood red/ruby garnet hue, on the nose we have notes of red fruits, warm earth, cherries, root vegetables and bay leaves. There is juicy acidity and the wine exhibits medium length, finishing with fine tannins. A wine which will provide enjoyable drinking over the next 4–6 years. Drink now–2031 Peter Lehmann Wines Hill and Valley Riesling 2025 G 90 Simple styling with a more green-apple-like flavour and texture note. In that realm it does a reasonable job for an introduction to the variety. Drink now–2030

Purple Hands Grenache 2024

G 90

Medium crimson. Fresh light strawberry red cherry aromas and flavours with cola notes. Supple and sweet fruited with fine chalky/ powdery textures and well- integrated mineral acidity. A touch of liquorice at the finish. Drink now–2030 Seabrook Wines The Merchant Barossa Valley Shiraz 2022 G 90 An earlier drinking style than some, though there is still plenty of meat on these bones. Opaque maroon in colour, this is from a very fine vintage. There is still some biscuity oak present, with notes of black fruits, soy, graphite, beefstock, blackberries and coffee grinds. A wine of medium length and sleek tannins, there are some sour cherries to be found on the finish. Drink now–2031
