Yalumba Rosé Grenache 2025
G 91
The wonderful versatility of Grenache is on display yet again. Wild fermentation here, the team used younger vines for this expressive and refreshing Rosé. Sunset orange in colour, the nose offers florals, cherries, strawberries, herbs and a hint of bitter almonds right at the finish to tie things together. There is a minerally backing here, a wine of medium length, clean and fresh, and pleasingly energetic. Enjoy this over the next 2–4 years. The team suggest matching this with a potato and rosemary pizza, which seems like a ridiculous amount of trouble to go to when it will be just as enjoyable on its lonesome on a summer afternoon by the pool. But if potato and rosemary pizza is your thing, knock yourself out. The colour is an appealing lemon/ straw. There is good intensity throughout, with the nose exhibiting notes of peaches and other stone fruits. Good focus here, this is a wine of medium length. Very much a food style. Drink now–2029 Z Wine Audrey Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 G 91 Deep crimson. Purple in colour, the nose exhibits notes of dry herbs, spices, plums, aniseed, black fruits and mushrooms. The style is from the savoury end of the spectrum, but the wine has an alluring plushness with a sleek texture, decent length and satiny tannins.
