Sorby Adams Gudilly Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro 2024

G 91

Generous and approachable drinking from a fine example of the famous Barossa blend, from a single vineyard, and a fine vintage. The blend is 75% grenache, 15% shiraz and 10% mataro and maturation was for 12 months in French oak. The colour is quite a vibrant purple, while the nose exhibits notes of warm earth, animal flesh, delicatessen meats, milk chocolate and raspberries. Quite earthy, this is a wine of medium length, sleek tannins and good balance. There are hints of sour cherries on the finish. Drink over the next 4–6 years. Drink now–2031 Stage Door Wine Co Riesling 2024 G 91 The colour is a pale lemon. This is a fine Riesling, for earlier drinking than many, from an excellent vintage. Made by Phil Lehmann, son of the legendary Peter Lehmann, but also a winemaker who has carved out a stellar reputation of his own. It is quite a forward style, soft and slightly plush in texture with a gentle fade. There is a flick of acidity. Drink now–2029 Stage Door Wine Co Shiraz 2022 G 91 A fine Barossa Valley Shiraz, the colour of which is a vibrant, dark purple. The nose gives us notes of dark berries, soy, delicatessen meats, warm earth and dry herbs. A soft style, with emerging hints of that regional plushness, this is easily drinkable and of a style which almost makes a second glass compulsory. There are fine tannins and the wine is of medium length. Drink now–2033 Tarrawatta Wines Godswalk Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 G 91 Deep crimson. Black cherry, muligatawny aromas with mocha notes. Very concentrated almost soupy in texture with ample dark chocolate. Dark berry fruits and plentiful chocolaty tannins. Bittersweet/ liquorice at the finish with dusty

notes. Drink now–2038 Two Hands Brave Faces Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz 2022

G 91
