Hentley Farm Riesling 2025

G 92

Orchard blossom here that leans a little into the orange flower spectrum, flavours also staying on that line as well. Nicely balanced acidity and palate feels in a style that aims to celebrate flavour and drive. Drink now–2030 John Duval Wines Annexus Grenache 2023 G 92 Musky plum, raspberry pastille, chinotto aromas and flavours with attractive saline notes. Bittersweet and refreshing palate with slinky dry tannins, crunchy acidity and hints of aniseed at the finish. Drink now–2030 John Duval Wines Concilio Grenache, Cinsault 2024 G 92 A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Cinsault, the grapes were sourced from an old bush vine block south of Tanunda and an old parcel at Moppa, respectively. The team incorporated one third whole bunches in the fermentation. The wine spent eight months maturing, the Grenache in a mix of tank and older French hogsheads, while the Cinsault was in French oak puncheons. A pale crimson colour, the nose reveals notes of dried herbs, leaf litter, raspberries, bay leaves and strawberries. There is good focus and energy here, the wine well balanced and exhibiting good length. Juicy acidity runs the length and this will provide attractive drinking for the next half dozen years. Drink now–2031 John Duval Wines Concilio Shiraz 2023 G 92 This Shiraz hails from the Barossa Valley, 70%, and the Eden Valley, 30%. More specifically, the Barossa Valley component is from Marananga and Ebenezer. Maturation was in older French oak for year, with a small percentage in tank. Bright and fresh, the wine has a red cherry/magenta hue. The nose offers notes of liquorice, warm earth, root vegetables, blackberries and smoked meats. There is a degree of austerity which contributes to the structure overall, and the wine has very good length. The finish sees notes of coffee grinds emerge. Firm tannins on a lingering finish, this should drink beautifully for the next 6–10 years. Drink now–2035 Juno Wines Old Vine Grenache 2024 G 92 From the Kalleske Vineyard, which was planted back in 1975, maturation was in French oak hogsheads and included one barrel which spent three months on lees contact. Bright cherry crimson in colour, this is a gentle but very approachable style, fresh and energetic, with notes of cherries and strawberries. A real brightness and vibrancy to this wine, there is a subtle and seductive palate with fresh acidity and fine satiny tannins. The wine has good length. There is lots to like here. Enjoy this over the next 5–8 years. Drink now–2033
