Drink now–2036 Gibson Isabelle Cabernet, Merlot 2023 G 92 This Cabernet Merlot blend is attribute to Rob Gibson’s mother. Winemaking here is very much a family affair. The fruit comes from the Light Pass sub-region and a dollop of Petit Verdot is included. Blood red/garnet in colour, the nose offers notes of black fruits, tobacco leaves, handfuls of warm earth, boysenberries and kirsch. There is a gentle hint of vanilla from the oak, fine tannins, medium length and good focus throughout. Enjoyable drinking for the next 6–8 years. Drink now–2033 Gibson Discovery Road Fiano 2025 G 92 Fiano grown in our warmer regions continues to excite and it can’t be long before this is considered a mainstream variety. The 2025 vintage was one of the hottest and driest on record and yields were significantly down on past years. But winemakers have expressed confidence in the quality. This Fiano is yellow/gold in colour. The nose is an appealing mix of pears, peaches, apricot kernels, ginger and crushed almonds. This is young, fresh and exciting, quite energetic with good intensity and length on the palate. Put simply, this is delicious. There is balance and really impressive length. Enjoy over the next five years. Drink now–2030 Grant Burge Thorn Riesling 2025 G 92 Nicely floral and minerally/earthy at the same time, with a well measured bodyweight through the palate, good flavours and even expression. A classic offering. Drink now–2036
