Atze’s Corner Wines Bachelor Shiraz 2022

G 92

A purple hue here, which verges on almost being black/blue. The nose offers aromas of blackberries, chocolate, plums and coffee grinds. Neatly focused, with good balance and fine, sleek tannins, this is a medium-weight style with a finish which lingers appealingly. A ten-year proposition. Drink now–2035 Atze’s Corner Wines Mob Montepulciano 2022 G 92 Deep crimson. Attractive dark chocolate, dark plum aromas with flinty notes. Supple and sweet fruited with abundant dark berry fruits, grainy/ bittersweet textures and plentiful juicy mineral notes. Slurpy and delicious to drink. Drink now–soon Auld Family Wines Family Series Shiraz 2022 G 92 This is a cracking Barossa Shiraz from a superb vintage. Seriously good value. The colour here is a deep bruised plum. The nose gives us notes of chocolate, spices, smoked meats, dried herbs, plums and chocolate. A sappy, fresh style with good energy. Impressive length, fresh acidity, supple tannins and a lingering finish. The palate sees more plums, black fruits and white pepper to the fore. Enjoy this now and for the next 6–8 years. Drink now–2033 Barossa Boy Wines Cheeky Tilly Riesling 2025 G 92 Pale colour, almost clear. Despite youth there is immediate aromatic intensity. Florally fragrant, jasmine and lavender, stone fruit and hints of bath salts. Razor- sharp acidity and vibrancy, in a classic lemon, lime medley and note of tonic water. Well-pitched and mineral-driven on the finish made in a refreshing style. Drink now–2032 Barons of Barossa 10 Year Old Barossa Cellar Tawny NV G 92 Dark mahogany hue. Notes of white chocolate, orange rind, sultanas and raisins, and toffee. This is supported by rancio notes. There is ample sweetness, all of which combines to provide impressive length. Even given the sweetness the wine is exceptionally well balanced. Good intensity throughout, with fine balance and no intrusion by any cloying note. Attractive in this early form, but there are many years of pleasure ahead of it. As a Tawny style, the drinking window is entirely up to the consumer, if well stored. Drink now–2055
