The nose offers notes of dark cherries, chocolate, liquorice, dry herbs, soy, beefstock and aniseed. A fresh and energetic palate, the wine has good focus, as well as balance and length, finishing with fine tannins. A very attractive package, all round, this is a ten-year proposition. Drink now–2035 Sons of Eden Freya Riesling 2025 G 93 Subtle aromas, steely and earthy more than floral, the palate all in place, a little spice for interest. A neatly crafted expression that is even and measured and very

drinkable. Drink now–2035 Sorby Adams St Aidans Shiraz 2022

G 93

Simon Adams has released a trio of very fine Barossa Shiraz from varying terroir across the region. They have all been named after the five Barossan parish halls that Simon’s great uncle, Rev Canon R K Sorby Adams OBE, presided over. From the southern parts of the Barossa, this wine spent two years in a mix of French and American oak. Deep red/magenta, the aromas are a mix of warm earth, spices, mulberries, root vegetables, cranberries, bergamot and hints of perfumed vanilla from the oak integration. A wine of medium length with fine tannins and good balance, this should provide pleasure over the next decade. Drink now–2035 Sorby Adams St Boniface Shiraz 2022 G 93 From the northern reaches of the Barossa, this wine spent 24 months in American oak. An inky dark maroon colour, the wine offers an intriguing nose with liqueur cherry notes, plums, coffee beans, cloves and a soaring cassis character which is quite delightful. There is good intensity here and this is a wine of full length. Fine tannins linger at the finish. Enjoy over the next 8–12 years. Drink now–2037
