Drink now–soon Golden Amrita Single Estate Shiraz 2021 G 93 Again, from the brilliant 2021 vintage, the wine spent time maturing in a mix of French and new American oak. An impressive Barossa Shiraz, the colour is an inky black/maroon. The nose gives us notes of liquorice, chocolate, mocha, blackberries, beefstock, plums and graphite. Good focus; there is impressive length here and abundant tannins, tying the finish together – abundant, but fine and soft. The finish lingers beautifully and notes of choc/cherry emerge on the palate. Will provide pleasure for many years. Drink now–2040 Golden Amrita Nectar Shiraz 2022 G 93 Deep crimson, Intense black cherry, boysenberry fruits with praline, hazelnut notes. Rich and flavourful with plentiful black cherry, boysenberry, blackberry fruits, slinky textures and underpinning roasted chestnut/ hazelnut, marzipan notes. Gravelly firm at the finish with crisp acidity. Drink now–2034 Golden Amrita Lumenval Moppa Shiraz 2022 G 93 Purple maroon in colour, there are notes of chocolate and mocha on the nose. This is a big, bold blockbuster from a belter of a vintage in the Barossa. There is plenty of oak still in evidence, but integration is proceeding well, and at this stage, it is imbuing the wine with a pleasing touch of vanilla. The palate sees the emergence of notes of coffee beans. The structure offers a seductive texture, good length and ultra-fine tannins. Impressive all round. Drink now–2037
