Eden Hall Grüner Veltliner 2024

G 93

From a single vineyard in the Eden Valley, this has a degree of finesse and elegance that one normally does not expect in this variety. A deep straw hue, there are notes of pears, citrus and apples and a tiny flick of mint. Bright acidity, this is fresh and exhibits good energy and focus. Impressive length here, this is a delicious Grüner and will continue to drink well for at least the next five years plus. Drink now–2030. Eden Hall Springton Riesling 2025 G 93 Pretty aromatics, florals to the fore, with their top notes sliding into the palate, a spice-blossom sense evident, while acidity fans out across the mouth. Nice and even style, with an appealing peppery finish. Drink now–2032 Eden Hall Springton Shiraz 2022 G 93 A deep blood-red hue here, with a nose redolent of raspberries, a range of red fruits, florals, spices, mocha, rose petals and chocolate. Oodles of chocolate, but there is some refinement here as well and lots to like. Fine satiny tannins, good length and a seamless structure all contribute to a delicious Eden Valley Shiraz. Drink now–2037 Eisenstone SR801 Greenock Shiraz 2022 G 93 Deep colour. Fresh blackberry dark chocolate, touch marzipan aromas with bush garrigue notes. Inky deep palate with ample choco-berry fruits, plentiful fine chalky tannins and underlying marzipan/ mocha notes. Finishes bittersweet and minerally. Drink now–2038 Eisenstone X10 d’Or Shiraz 2022 G 93 Medium-deep crimson. Roasted coffee, raspberry pastille, marzipan aromas with sea breezy notes. Well concentrated and minerally with raspberry, redcurrant, dried cherry fruits, fine slinky, rusty/ muscular tannins and underlying saline, quartz, roasted almond notes. Finishes chalky and minerally. Drink now–2040 Elk Wines High Eden “River” Riesling 2025 G 93 Attractive minerals and florals interplay together, with a lovely purity in the palate, some spice among a little grassiness, acidity nicely under-layered with a long line in the finish. Well integrated, front to end. Drink now–2032
