Sweet fruited, blackberry pastile, walnut/ grilled nut favours and fine chalky/ bittersweet textures. Lovely complexity and flow. Drink now–2032 Head Red Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro 2024 G 93 Grenache dominates this wine with contributions from both Shiraz and Mataro, the fruit coming from a range of vineyards across the Barossa. The aim would seem to be a wine full of flavour, which can be enjoyed a little earlier than some. The Grenache comes from vineyards between 60 and 80 years of age. A small percentage of whole bunches are included in the fermentation and large old oak is used for the maturation of the Grenache. The colour is a gleaming crimson/red. We have notes of warm earth, red cherries, violets and raspberries on the nose. There is impressive direction and energy here, with a line of fine acidity and fine silty tannins. Really good length, this will provide pleasure for at least the next 6–8 years. A very fine example of the style. Drink now–2033
