Sourced from vineyards in the Ebenezer sub-region and Eden Valley. The colour is a dark maroon, with a vibrant red rim. We have aromas of aniseed, black olives, blackberries, plums, spices, herbs, black cherries, cocoa powder and truffles. There is good focus, direction, and bright acidity, with a long and lingering finish, and fine tannins. A most impressive and generously flavoured Shiraz, destined to offer enjoyment over the next 10–15 years. Drink now–2045 Twelftree Vinegrove Road Greenock Grenache 2021 G 94 The wine saw the use of 15% whole bunches with fermentation and 9–10 months’ maturation in concrete vats and 500-litre French oak puncheons. As must be apparent to anyone with the vaguest interest in wine, 2021 was a stunning vintage in the Barossa Valley (and elsewhere). Take the opportunity to grab any you find these days and hide them in your cellar. You will be rewarded many times over, especially with wines that are such amazing bargains, like this one. But be quick – just 88 dozen made. From 63-year-old vines in the Greenock sub-region. A deep red hue, the nose exhibits notes of red fruits, florals, raspberries, herbs, delicatessen meats, animal flesh and cherries. A seductive and sleek palate. There is excellent length here, through to very fine tannins. Fresh, lingering and balanced, this is a delicious Grenache and will surely remain so for at least the next 10 years.
