Deep crimson. Intense elderberry, blackberry with dark chocolate/ bush garrigue notes. Inky deep dark berry, dark chocolate flavours and long powdery firm tannins. Some underlying savoury notes. Some minerally leafy notes at the finish. Fruity and textural wine. Drink now–2034 Alkina Old Quarter Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro 2023 G 94 Medium-deep crimson. Strawberry, red cherry, chinotto with lifted graphite notes. Fresh minerally palate with bittersweet strawberry, red cherry cola flavours and fine loose-knit chalky textures. Finishes al dente with star anise notes. Drink now–2030 Arila Gardens Moppa Shiraz 2023 G 94 Deep crimson. Musky black cherry, aniseed aromas with underlying savoury notes. Generously concentrated with supple dark berry fruits, some mocha notes and plentiful chewy firm tannins. Juicy and tight at the finish. Drink now–2036 Arila Gardens Single Vineyard Shiraz 2023 G 94 Deep crimson. Blackberry chinotto, mocha aromas with hints of bush garrigue and spice. Generously concentrated with inky deep choco-berry, hint apricot fruits and persistent fine chocolaty tannins. Finishes firm and tight. Drink now–2032 Atze’s Corner Wines Giant Durif 2022 G 94 Deep crimson. Fragrant inky, black cherry leafy aromas with roasted walnut notes. Richly concentrated with dense dark berry fruits, ample chocolaty tannins and well- integrated savoury of roasted walnut, hint cedar notes. Finishes chocolaty and long. Drink now–2035 Atze’s Corner Wines John & Barb’s Old Vine Grenache 2022 G 94 Medium crimson. Intense raspberry, touch wax polish, roasted walnut aromas. Generous mouth-filling wine with abundant raspberry, redcurrant fruits, slinky textures, some walnutty, earthy notes and underlying crisp acidity. Finishes chalky with a touch of aniseed. Drink now–2034 Barons of Barossa Triplex Shiraz 2023 G 94 Vibrant dark purple hue here, the nose reveals notes of chocolate, cassis, dried herbs, mulberries, black fruits and aniseed. This is a beautifully crafted and finely balanced wine with a supple texture and a lingering finish. There is a sense of refinement here that lifts it well above your average Barossa Shiraz. A seriously impressive effort with a long and exciting future. Drink now–2037
