Brown Hill Estate Lakeview Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2025
G 90
Blackberry leaf, elderflower, and lime flesh. Almost icy in its purity and crunch. Some cold nashi pear and cordial-like juicy palate. If you’re after a thirst-quenching fruit-punchy SSB, you’ll be delighted to find this will tick all the boxes. Drink with shelled prawns and white bread rolls. Drink now–2028 Churchview Estate Limited Release Chenin 2024 G 90 Geraldton wax, beeswax, and candle wax – the latter really just for emphasis. It was a hot year in Margaret River, and luckily, chenin seems to have handled it with ease. Wild-fermented in oak, giving paperbark tree, and a cocoon of savoury flavour. The palate brings ripe citrus, grapefruit and … more waxy goodness. The grunt work in the winery is evident, and I appreciate the style. Drink now–2030 Credaro Kinship Chardonnay 2024 G 90 A wealth of pineapples and yellow peaches, some pears in syrup, and tulip petal. Some struck match that lingers. Acidity is all time, and there is a slight notion of sea salt. This is punchy and will benefit from a decant, and some Aussie cheesey dishes or better yet some fried chicken. Drink now–2028 Credaro Kinship Rosé Nebbiolo, Barbera 2025 G 90 A blend of 65% Nebbiolo and 35% Barbera. Maple leaf, white strawberries, and fresh cranberries. The leafiness of Nebbiolo is met with some chewy mid-palate blood plums. Natural acidity makes this a Rosé that’s refreshing, with just a titch of red berry sweetness, well integrated into the wine. This is ideal food and wine territory, I’m thinking heart meatballs and excellent fresh sugo sauce. Drink now–2027 Dreambird Goodie Goodie Vermentino 2025 G 90 Lime skin, lime sorbet, limestone. It’s salty and vivacious. Wild- fermented in seasoned oak puncheons and knocked about on lees for a couple of months, giving texture and oomph. A bright, breezy wine that slips comfortably into the Dreambird quiver of wallet-friendly wines for not-so-friendly times. Drink now–2032
