Credaro 1000 Crowns Chardonnay 2024
G 91
Yellow nashi pear, pomelo, and Freesia flowers. Some cut fennel bulb, calamansi skin, and greengage plums. There is restraint here and acidity that drives right through, moving into the linear form. Plenty of crunch and a wine for those who seek the cut green apple notes of Chardonnay’s guise. Go for fresh garden herbs and white meat, salad things to allow the wine’s delicacy to shine. Drink now–2030 Gralyn Classic Muscat NV G 91 We are a long way from Rutherglen here, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find quality fortifieds. This Muscat is matured in seasoned oak casks and blended from parcels with an average barrel age of a decade. Mahogany teak in colour with a burnt orange rim, this is a fresh and pleasantly spirity style of a youthful Muscat. Slightly edgy, the nose offers notes of raisins and almonds with hints of toffee and white chocolate. There is a slightly earthy note underpinning the wine. Hints of cold tea emerge towards the finish. Sweetness, sure, but it is well balanced. A fortified of medium length, drink this whenever you feel like it. Lots to enjoy. Drink now–2035 Hay Shed Hill Wines Block 6 Chardonnay 2024 G 91 Lemon verbena, grapefruit, and green apple flesh. Acidity dances and reflects its yellow citrus fruit core. There is some sandy texture and a wealth of grated nutmeg, some chalky notes and a clean finish. Oak is well-suited to the intensity of the wine. Drink now–2028 Hay Shed Hill Wines Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 91 A perfumed wine of dark cherries and elderberries, some violet and rosemary wood. The wine is looking youthful with a crunch to the berry skin, some classically spiced oak notes of clove, cedar, and wood varnish. This is a wine designed for its approachability, but still has the stuffing for another decade in your cellar. Try with veal and mushroom sauce. Drink now–2035
