Claymore Wines Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz 2022
G 90
A blend of estate and grower parcels of fruit that combines ripe fruit with a fine- edged tannin backbone. The result is a medium-bodied, firm young Shiraz capable of further ageing, which is a bonus with the $25 price tag. Black cherry, red plum, blueberries and red liquorice, spice aromas. The palate sits in between the spectrum of black and red fruits and is well spiced, shaped in firm tannins. A good proposition when serving some heavy-duty red meat protein. Drink now–2030 Kilikanoon Symphony Dry Rosé 2025 G 90 Bright, copper-rose colour meets a big bunch of spiced cherries and strawberries, crunchy and dry, in the glass and the result is some excellent red fruit-infused drinking. It’s vibrant in fruit, textural and smooth across the palate, with a light almond skin savouriness and grip to close. Suits both solo drinking and partnering
with food. Drink now–2028 Knappstein The Insider Shiraz, Malbec 2022
G 90
The Insider is a label that allows Knappstein winemakers to be creative, and this blend sees whole bunch fermentation and time in seasoned oak. It is very much about now, a wine ready to go, with plenty of upfront summer berry fruits, gentle spice, easy supple tannins and a fresh acidity. Drink now–2027 Matriarch & Rogue Bob Fiano 2025 G 90 The Southern Italian grape variety brings a fresh, summery, stone fruit appeal to the glass together with a signature easy textural flow. It’s an attractive, approachable drinking mix of flavours and textures combining lemon citrus, white peach, pear, a splash of spiced apple and honeysuckle. Bob must feel proud! Drink now–2028 Matriarch & Rogue Ken Primitivo Primitivo 2023 G 90 Shows the primitivo grape – aka zinfandel – in a fragrant, aromatic light which definitely suits it. Keeps it going on a medium-bodied palate which introduces another side to the grape – its red-fruited, warmly spiced, soft and supple side. Red berries, black cherry, wild strawberry, anise and potpourri scents. Supple tannins marry with creamy, oak-derived spice and plum to finish on a lively upbeat. Drink now–2028 Matriarch & Rogue Mary Tempranillo 2022 G 90 Jumping and juicy fresh, Mary should feel pleased to have her name attached to this Tempranillo. The back label notes 36 months in oak, but really this is about the vibrancy of the fruit, the dark cherries, plum, wild strawberry and gentle layers of spice and light florals. Comes together with the kind of freshness that makes you want to tuck straight in. Vibrant cherry-pip dry finish. Drink now–2028
