Tim Adams Botrytis Riesling 2023

G 92

The transformative powers of botrytis are in full effect here with a lovely complexity on show. Cumquat and citrus are beautifully detailed together with dried apricot and lemon citrus and honey notes – classic botrytis – looking bright and fresh. While gently luscious and sweet, the palate is crisp in acidity and nicely balanced. 500ml. Drink now–2028 Tim Adams Mr Mick Sangiovese 2024 G 92 Jumps in juicy cherry vibes and snappy acidity. Classic spiced cherries, wild raspberry, plum and anise with pressed flowers and leafy thyme. So drinkable, so vibrant, so Sangiovese bright in fine, sandpaper tannins with a cherry pip astringency to close. Drink now–2029 Anthologist End of the Row Cabernet, Shiraz 2023 G 91 The cool 2023 vintage tested patience, but the result is a well-ripened, young, classic Aussie blend that goes down a treat. A 70/30% blend, the palate is juicy, generously sweet fruited, and while it boasts 14.7% ABV, it is pulled into shape nicely by a mix of bright acidity and ripe tannins. Darkly fruited, fleshy plum, cassis, with baking spices, leaves, earth. Nice, gently drying grip to close. Drink now–2030 Anthologist Saperavi 2024 G 91 Impenetrable purple-black colour. The saperavi Georgian name translates to inky – very apt. Dried herbs, rosewood, undergrowth, earth, truffle, dark fleshy berries on the bouquet. It has the scent and taste of an earthy, rustic wine in touch with the land. The variety’s distinctive tannic backbone is a feature of the palate and, hence, a feature which can’t be ignored. It asks for a food accompaniment, preferably protein-rich. Drink now–2036

Kilikanoon Blocks Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

G 91

A nicely captured regional statement of Cabernet Sauvignon with estate fruit grown close to the winery and delivering a fine, leafy-edged, medium-bodied wine which totally belies its age. Boasts a youthful, brisk intensity of flavour in cassis, red and blue berried fruits, lifted in peppery spice, leaf and herbs and presented with well- crafted oak that never intrudes on the freshness and vitality of the fruit or the wine. Drinking in harmony right now. Drink now–2030
