A deep crimson/purple hue. The nose is full of notes of chocolate, cassis and plums. All very Barossan, all very delicious. There are also touches of smoked meats, dried herbs and cocoa powder. A well-focused wine of medium length with an attractive lingering finish. Bright acidity runs the full journey, which finishes with fine, satiny tannins. A ten-year proposition, there is a lot to like here. Drink now–2035 The Willows Vineyard G7 Mataro 2024 G 93 Medium-deep crimson. Raspberry, red liquorice aromas with herbgarden/ floral notes. Buoyant and smoothly textured with ample raspberry and boysenberry fruits, fine chalky textures and fresh, juicy acidity. Drink now–soon Tim Smith Wines Bugalugs Grenache 2023 G 93 Medium-deep crimson. Red cherry, red liquorice aromas with herbgarden/ cola notes. Round in shape on the palate with smooth red cherry, strawberry, redcurrant fruits, supple textures and underlying savoury notes. Finishes minerally, touch grippy and long with some bittersweet notes. Ready to drink. Drink now–soon. Tim Smith Bugalugs Old Vine Grenache 2024 G 93 Unoaked Barossa Grenache, this is from a vineyard planted back in the early ‘70s. A pale garnet hue, this is fresh and vibrant with notes of strawberries and cream, herbs, raspberries and just a hint of pomegranate and mulberries. Sleek and supple, this is well balanced and offers delicious drinking, right through to that mix of silky and silty tannins. Decent length, this is for drinking over the next 4–6 years. Drink now–2031 Tim Smith Bugalugs Shiraz 2024 G 93 From vineyards which are largely located on the Barossa Valley floor, the wine spent time in old oak. Its aim is simply to provide delicious drinking and it succeeds in spades. A vibrant magenta hue, the nose reveals notes of plums, cassis, liquorice, cocoa powder, black fruits and kirsch. Even a hint of chocolate. A seamless style with fine tannins and good length, there is impressive focus here. It will provide cracking drinking over the next 10–12 years. Great value. Drink now–2037

Medium-deep crimson. Intense polished walnut, dark cherry, brambly aromas. Richly flavoured palate with generous dark berry, dark chocolate brambly flavours and fresh al dente/ grippy tannins. Very good volume, energy and torque. Bittersweet finish. Mataro shines through! Drink now–2034
