Eden Hall Springton Riesling 2024
G 94
A lemon straw hue here, this is a beautifully fragrant Riesling with lime blossoms, florals and gentle hints of peach skins. Construction is immaculate, as is the balance. There is a slight note of a chalky/ talc backing. Fine acidity runs the length with a dry, clean finish. Good length. This is a really attractive Riesling. A thoroughly enjoyable and exciting old vine Barossa Shiraz. This is a purple maroon, dark crimson red colour. Oak integration is still in progress, but it is clear that this is a wine combining quality oak and quality fruit. The nose reveals notes of black fruits, truffles, mocha, coffee beans and cocoa powder. Ideally, leave it for two or three years and then drink it over the next 10–15. A wine of balance, length and fine tannins, this is seamless and supple. A cracker. Drink now–2040 Gatt Riesling 2025 G 94 From a single vineyard, just 550 dozen made of this really excellent Eden Valley Riesling. It is also yet more rather compelling evidence, which continues to build, that this will be an excellent vintage for the region. A near transparent lemon hue, it is beautifully aromatic with notes of citrus, spices, lemons, river stones, grapefruit and kaffir limes. There is a soft texture with a fine line of acidity. Quite a juicy style, there is good balance and excellent length. This will easily provide pleasure for the next 10–12 years. Drink now–2037
