Deep crimson. Intense black cherry/ kirsch, blackberry, dark chocolate aromas with attractive herb/ chinotto notes. Inky deep and generous with lovely blackberry, black cherry, mulberry fruits, fresh supple chocolaty tannins and well-integrated roasted walnut/ hint marzipan notes. Builds up brambly firm at the finish with seductive bittersweet notes. Buoyant, exuberant and voluminous with an underlying brambly vigour. Drinking well now but should further develop over the medium term. Drink now–2037 Peter Lehmann Wines Hill & Valley Shiraz 2023 G 95 Medium-deep crimson, Fresh redcurrant, raspberry, brambly aromas with hints of chocolate. Glossy and primary with ample red and dark berry fruits, sinuous textures and underlying savoury notes. Early drinking style. Drink now–2028+
Peter Lehmann Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

This Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon, from the exceptional 2021 vintage, is a tribute to Peter Lehmann, who mentored a great many of today’s winemakers, both from the Barossa and beyond. The wine spent 18 months maturing in French oak hogsheads, 40% of them new. An inky maroon hue, there is also a dark purple rim here. The nose reveals notes of chocolate, liquorice, black fruits, tobacco leaves, charcoal, plums and black cherries with very well integrated oak. This is quite a powerful style with extensive length and powdery tannins. Good concentration is evident from the start. A 15-year proposition. Compelling evidence that good Cabernet can most definitely be made in the Barossa. It may not resemble Bordeaux or even Coonawarra or Margaret River, but that does not mean it is not thoroughly

Pale colour with lemon edge. Fresh complex, advanced oil skin, white floral, verbena, toasty mandarin and herbgarden notes. Elegant and beautifully concentrated, lemon pith, mandarin and hint marzipan notes. Integrated fresh acidity and fine bittersweet textures, finishes long with attractive developed lanolin flavour. Drink now–soon.
