G 95

Medium-deep crimson. Classical musky plum, pure strawberry aromas, fragrant herbgarden notes. Generously concentrated with inky red plum, strawberry, raspberry fruits and fine persistent slinky tannins. Animated and expressive wine with a negroni-like finish. Drink now–2032 Chaffey Bros. Wine Co La Resistance GSM 2023 G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Lovely raspberry, blackberry pastille aromas with roasted walnut, hint peppery notes. Red and black fruits on the palate with roasted nut, hint wax polish notes. Finishes chalky/ al dente firm and crunchy with peppery/ spicy notes. Lovely fruit complexity and vigour. A cracker at this price point. Drink now–2030 Charles Melton Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 G 95 The fruit for this cracking Barossa Cabernet is sourced from the family’s Kirche Vineyard and the 1927 plantings at Rowland Flat. The wine spends two years maturing in French barriques and puncheons, 80% of them new. The colour is a blood red. On the nose, we have aromas weaving through notes of blackberries, tobacco leaves, cassis and aniseed. A supple and seductive texture with very fine powdery tannins and impressive length, while the balance remains immaculate; all combine to provide superb drinking. The wine would hardly even notice 10 years in the cellar. Drink now–2035 Charles Melton Grains of Paradise Shiraz 2022 G 95 This wine is a selection from the Melton’s best blocks of Shiraz. Maturation is for 24 months in an even split of French and American oak, 30% of it new. Dark maroon in colour, this is generous and approachable and just what we are all looking for in top-notch Barossa Shiraz. The nose gives us aromas weaving through cassis, plums, chocolate, mocha, cold tea, blackberries and bergamot. Just a hint of charcuterie as well. There is great length here and satiny tannins. The wine is seamless and superbly balanced. It will easily handle 15 years in the cellar, continuing to improve over that time. Love it. Paradise, indeed. Drink now–2040
