Barossa Wine Guide 2026

Stage Door Wine Co Shiraz 2022

G 91

A fine Barossa Valley Shiraz, the colour of which is a vibrant, dark purple. The nose gives us notes of dark berries, soy, delicatessen meats, warm earth and dry herbs. A soft style, with emerging hints of that regional plushness, this is easily drinkable and of a style which almost makes a second glass compulsory. There are fine tannins and the wine is of medium length. Drink now–2033 Tarrawatta Wines Godswalk Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 G 91 Deep crimson. Black cherry, muligatawny aromas with mocha notes. Very concentrated almost soupy in texture with ample dark chocolate. Dark berry fruits and plentiful chocolaty tannins. Bittersweet/ liquorice at the finish with dusty

notes. Drink now–2038 Two Hands Brave Faces Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz 2022

Yalumba Rosé Grenache 2025

G 91

The wonderful versatility of Grenache is on display yet again. Wild fermentation here, the team used younger vines for this expressive and refreshing Rosé. Sunset orange in colour, the nose offers florals, cherries, strawberries, herbs and a hint of bitter almonds right at the finish to tie things together. There is a minerally backing here, a wine of medium length, clean and fresh, and pleasingly energetic. Enjoy this over the next 2–4 years. The team suggest matching this with a potato and rosemary pizza, which seems like a ridiculous amount of trouble to go to when it will be just as enjoyable on its lonesome on a summer afternoon by the pool. But if potato and rosemary pizza is your thing, knock yourself out. Drink now–2029 Yelland & Papps Vin de Soif Blanc Roussanne, Grenache Gris 2024 G 91 An intriguing wine, this is a blend of Roussanne and Grenache Gris from the sub- regions of Greenock, Bethany and Vine Vale. The colour is an appealing lemon/ straw. There is good intensity throughout, with the nose exhibiting notes of peaches and other stone fruits. Good focus here, this is a wine of medium length. Very much a food style. Drink now–2029 Z Wine Audrey Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 G 91 Deep crimson. Intense black cherry, graphite, touch leafy/ violet aromas and flavours, firm chalky tannins and underlying roasted walnut notes, Firm and minerally at the finish. Drink now–2030
