Vinteloper Shiraz Pinot 2024

G 90

Pink Mischief in a glass. Strawberry drops, frozen yoghurt and orange blossom – maybe even a hint of panna cotta if you close your eyes. It’s weighted and saline on the palate, more grown-up than it first lets on. Crushed rock and salt dust shape the finish, stretching that sweet-savoury tension into something irreverent and savoury. Drink now–2029 Wicks Estate C.J. Wicks Pinot Noir 2024 G 90 Open and ready to caress. Plentiful fruit – tart black cherries, cranberries and a touch of autumn leaves. It’s understandable, the friendly face at the party. The palate follows suit – less extroverted, but no less charming. The tannins are sappy, perhaps even the best part. Drink now–2031 Wicks Estate Chardonnay 2024 G 90 Sweet pomelo, citrus and pith. Light-bodied, lean and built for speed – plenty of fresh acid and positive energy. Drink now–2027 Wicks Estate Pinot Noir 2025 G 90 Fresh and long. I like its youthful bounce and orange tones. Fresh lime, tart rhubarb and lemon sherbet. It’s a lively little one – a touch simple, but enjoyable nonetheless. Drink now–2029 Wirra Wirra The Lost Watch Riesling 2025 G 90 Lime skin and orange blossom – sweet and abundant on the nose. The palate shifts gear: winter-wet steel, salty freshness, lightning acid and bone-dry resolve. Simple and pleasingly puckering. Drink now–2029 Zonte’s Footstep Dawn Patrol Pinot Noir 2023 G 90 A darker fruited, black cherry approach, with the subtle woody spice of the variety. Towards the riper, darker and fuller weighted end of the Pinot spectrum, with all the

right notes. Drink now–2030 Zontes Footstep Excalibur Sauvignon Blanc 2025

G 90

Bright and unfazed. Shaved green apple, lime and gooseberries. It knows its place, which is among its beautiful SB die-hards and gives just a little more fruit abundance than its counterparts. Drink now–2029
