Anvers Razorback Road Shiraz 2022
G 91
All the Shiraz things here, an upward lift in the aromas, a little Aussie bushland and crumbled earth through its centre, nice sweet crimson to blue sweet fruit flavours, with some spice and grip in the end zone. Drink now–2030 Bleasdale Riesling 2025 G 91 Lovely softly mannered Riesling with beautiful florals and already a first little step towards some aged complexity. Early? For sure for a little development, yet it makes for an attractive flavour profile, with makrut lime notes just starting to appear. Pithy, and chalky finishing textures add to its table-friendly manners. Drink now–2030 Catlin GB’s Rosé Montepulciano 2024 G 91 Pale with earthier tones than most of the Rosé genre. Has a woodiness to it, and a fruit flavour that suggests dried cherry as well as more familiar white strawberry tops. There’s a creamy dessert-like note to it as well, though not sweet. A Rosé to savour rather than smash. Drink now–2028 Dandelion Vineyards Wishing Clock Sauvignon Blanc 2025 G 91 Fresh and crisp – chirpy and yum. Kaffir lime, ginger and lime zest. A flick of passionfruit, some texture through the mid-palate, and an acid line that keeps it all humming. Drink now–2029 Golding Pinot Gris 2024 G 91 Pinot Gris with a pinkish tinge, courtesy of the variety’s unique greyish skins. There’s a subtly fragrant cut pear note to begin, before a palate with a reasonable amount of texture and body through it, a mix of strawberry and apple flavours with texture and pith for salivation. Could happily sit in the Rosé file as well. Drink now–2028
Golding Francis Pinot Noir 2024
G 91
Spicy, with baby fat and the curves of a goddess. Blood plum, black cherry and white pepper lead the charge. It’s got some get-up-and-go – woody and savoury on the palate, with bay leaf, snapped twig and dried fig. An easy wine, flexing a little muscle but never showing a hard edge. Drink now–2030
